A couple of mentions of a midfield three on here, but I don't think we played a three. It was Kouyate and Noble as a pair, with Mario and Lanzini playing inside left and right in what was basically a 5-4-1.

Moyes inherited some bad players and added evra so he's slotted right into our transfer system

PD I am not saying we should write the game off, but with an ageing defence what can we really expect? Against some Mickey Mouse sides we can get away with it but not the pace that Liverpool have. I think Moyes has inherited some pretty poor players and as someone said our midfield three are not going to stop anybody. 99% of the Posters on here have been crying out for a top Defensive Midfielder but lets not go there with these owners. Roll on Saturday................

Couple of points from the visit to Anfield yesterday, the stadium is magnificent, but if you are complaining about getting a beer at the OS then you definitely wouldn't be happy at Anfield took nearly 10 minutes to get to the concourse and it's tiny compared to ours. What was a nice touch was all the staff serving at the drink and food bars wore the West Ham Bobby Moore T shirts. The crowd were very quiet maybe they have become complacent and feel they only need to cheer when they score.

Evra was the pantomime villain for the majority of the crowd yesterday.
Ref got in the spirit. "Take that, you dastard!"

Did anyone receive a card for that awful challenge on Evra that needed stitches?

Surprising result this, considering we've got a better squad than them.

Going away from the popular conversation here but how quiet was Anfield yesterday?
Given that it now holds 55,000 it was like a morgue in there; at times you could hear the players shouting at each other. They didn't even manage the usual YNWA with a couple of minutes to go.
It looks like it is not only us that are struggling for an atmosphere now. Modern football is shit.

Spot on with that, we shouldn’t be writing these games off, they’re back four can be got at.
Bad line up from the start, lanzini should have started on the bench after being out for a while and starting Evra away that Anfield against that forward line for he’s first game in months was wrong. Don’t think Moyes is happy with any of the defence tbf, hopefully be big changes if he stays on

Playing the oldest two full backs in the league against the quickest team in the league was never going to give us much confidence. Line up was all wrong and put us on the back foot.

Mario noble and lanzini in central midfield ain't gonna stop anyone and kyoute wide right didn't stop Robertson once. So all in all a very lightweight midfield. Trying to put lanzini and mario in the midfield will cost us and if Moyes is frightened to drop one of them will prove expensive. But lucky we had evra and zabaleta bombing up the line to help out

Carters - Agree with all that, but a lot of lesser sides have got something at Anfield in recent years, numerous times in fact. WBA won there just weeks back and we hadn't lost there in our last 3 visits. So I don't go along with the principal that it's okay just to write these games off.

Liverpool's side must have cost circa 350m Plus, West Ham Utd.70m. It's not rocket science to see where are problem is. Moyes,IMO outstanding Manager and backroom Staff. Players who should not be out there. Zabaleta,Collins, Evra too old too slow. Cresswell is not a centre back,in fact he's not a left back, going forward maybe but, defensively?? Reid, injury prone. Noble, Kouyate and Mario overrun and simply not good enough to take on top teams. That said what did we expect at Anfield./ As someone said on here earlier in the week after Font'e departure its going to be an interesting Summer.

Dancer In other words a lightweight. .
LanzinI..to his massive credit adapted to this League...but he still flakes Some just don't fancy it ..Mario didn't today....that's for sure..he may take on the challenge..I hope so.
No doubting his ability...but he looked way off today...wake up call for the lad if he wants to stay in this League.

Pagey - Mario is 'class'? I suppose 'class' is a vague term, but let's assume you mean he's a top player. Well he's not. He may be capable of a few nice touches and appear to have time on the ball, but when you are playing in the middle of the park at this level then you need much more about you than just that. His all round game is poor. Popping up every 15 minutes or so with a nice touch or 2 is nowhere near what is required. End of.
